To deposit coin in a bank, do you HAVE to bag it first?
As in the money coin bags. Reason being my wife went to the bank to deposit some coin (about $200 worth) and they sent her away saying she would have to bag it before depositing?
Isn’t it their job to count it, and bag it if they please? Not the customer?
It differs between banks. I also have a story from Australia – at my bank, and can just walk in and deposit a huge bucket of coins, and they count it in a machine in about 10 seconds flat. Don’t even charge a fee or anything.
Each bank will set its own rules though. You might be out of luck.
